My daughter has been high pressure sold a debtor-creditor-supplier agreement. Unfortunately the salesman didn't bother to discuss her financial situation or ask the Quick Check questions on the Agreement which wanted to know if she was in full time employment or earned over £10,000 pa. He would have discovered that she is a full-time student with a small part time job.
Initially she was invited to at short notice by a friend to a makeover and photoshoot who indicated it was already paid for. At the end of the day they were shown the photos and pressured into paying £900 for a cd of 12 images. I won't mention any names but typing scam photoshoot Great Portland Street on google brings up many examples of my daughters experience.
I have done loads of background checks on the supplier and the creditor, and have told the creditor I am going to have their fitness to trade with a credit license investigated.
The Agreement has a 14 day cooling off period, but then the balance has to be repaid within 30 days. I have written and said I consider the agreement to be nul and void due to the circumstances in which it was sold but this seems to be a catch 22 situation as the debt has been sold on.
I haven't given up, but have to repay £820 on 24 March. Any suggestions very welcome.
