  • Welcome Finance (again)

Just come off the phone with Welcome Finance as they are chasing me for a amount which they state I still owe on a loan account. I did a vt in July and they are saying that I owe them on shortfall insurance. I have received many harrassing calls from them and finally complained to their head office who upheld the complaint. The calls continued even though I requested that correspondence should only be in writing. I have explained to them that until they agree to pay my bank charges for changing the D/D date which ended up in the D/D not being paid then I am not willing to pay them a penny. They also charged me 25.00 for the non payment of the D/D. They have now affected my credit rating by putting non payments on my file with Equifax. I have explained to "checkmyfile" who have lodged the dispute with Equifax in December. They should of responded in 28daysof which they failed to do (Welcome). Yesterday they were still waiting. Apparently every time you enquire they get another 28 days so this turning out to be a pointless exercise. Checkmyfile have suggested I contact the F/O but their could be a time issue soon with this.
Welcome have threatened , as they always do , to pass this to a third party but are unwilling to take the charges off their"shortfall ins" so I am thinking if these late payments are going to stay on my file for 6 years , do I take the chance and let them take me to court, which will incur a default register on my file. Either way it looks like my credit score will be affected for the next six years even though from the beginning of the loan to the VT I never missed a payment ,(3 years).

    Re: Welcome Finance (again)

Welcome have been involving a DCA and there soliciters and are being seen to take action over the last few months. Just a heads up that the usual 'idle threats' might actually land you in court at some point.

Id suggest talking to the F/O, ive had a very good personal experience with them myself recently ( not debt related, but car insurance), and everything happened extremely quickly.

Sorry i cannot help any further.
