Well, i have allowed 24 hours of the thread to be openly viewed without membership of this forum so today i have edited it out so that it appears here.
This may prove to be the best information yet apart from the last days one I am planning, in fact it is that good it will introduced here and put into the members only forum.
I digress too much. Today's topic is about data protection and "officially" how long the bank can supply statements. I am going to quote bank process manuals so that any disclosure that people as guests can view can quote.
Business Support Manual 503, process 2
"The Reprint Ledgers And Statements archive holds eight years records of statements issued, to NatWest customers, prior to migration."
Just to be clear on the terminology. "migration" means the point in which natwest computer systems changed from NatWest PLC to RBS Group PLC which is October 5th 2002. This also explains why statements will sometimes come in two batches or will be missing earlier statements.
To clarify, that means that statements can be obtained from 4th October 1994 exactly 8 years prior to migration.
This bit is important, account notes will include the charges information and will go back to the beginning of computerisation in natwest which is 1991.
My apologies that this is the serious bit but when the VIP section opens then feel free to move it there. 2 more days of info in here on a more serious note and i will not do it again. Honest guvnor.
