unfair bank charges 2003 - 2007 (took natwest to court in 2007) and then additional bank charges 2007 - 2009 is it too late to re appeal, I know I should have acted sooner, i'm just wondering if contacting the financial ombudsman or getting a no win no fee solicitor involved would help or is there a 6 year cut off period?
Between 2003 - 2009 I had several bank charges applied to my account by Natwest, these totalled approx £10,000. I was offered a paltry sum of about £600, when i quite rightly refused the offer, the bank came back with an even lesser amount of £540, which i was amazed by, how can a 2nd offer be lower that the first, and only a tiny percentage of what they've charged me overall.
I did take Natwest to court in 2007, but my case was put on hold whilst the banks put a test case through the courts. Obviously late in 2009 the banks won the test case and therefore the courts ruled that the banks didn't have to pay any more unfair bank fee's back to customers.
The banks charging up to £30/£35 a time put a massive strain on my finances and subsequently I was forced to sell my house (well below the market value for a quick sale) before it got repossessed in 2012. I even had to borrow £2500 from my parents to fully pay the mortgage off. i still owe them this money to date. I found Natwest to be rude and condescending during my time of dealing with them.
thanks in advance
