    hi ya just joined (great)
    got all my statements claiming just over £12000.00 its a large figure cause im self employed and never get paid on time so mostly all direct debit charges etc.
    Any way sent them the 14 day letter monday and today had a reply they want 8 weeks. shall i ignore this. If not is it 14 working days?.

    hi there, have u done both the prelim and LBA? if so file on the 29th day...usual standard reply from abbey, ignore it and stick to your timetable.

      The 8 weeks comes from the time they are 'allowed' to deal with complaints so they'll try it on, yours isn't a complaint, you are seeking your unlawful charges back.

      Stilck to your timescales, chances are if you waited the 8 weeks, they'd write and tell you you culdn't have a refund anyway!!!

        Hey there,

        All I can do is echo what has been said allready. This is your claim so you have established the timescales and it is important that you stick to them.

        So prelim request, then LBA then file the claim.
