  • HSBC defaulted account, need removing!

    Hi all.

i had banked with HSBC for years up until December 2012.
I am self employed and just had a normal current account nothing fancy just a standard account!
Went in to cash my cheques before Christmas but they wouldn't except them as the customer had put and extra word in my name, Regarding my company name! So anyway I asked to open a bussiness account then so I can cash these cheques, they told me I couldn't have one! So after arguing with them I was just stuck with cheques I couldn't cash!
i approached natwest who I also bank with jointly for mortgage etc and house bills, they opened mea business account, no probs took a few days to get up and running etc and for cheques to go in and clear!
Within this time I became over drawn with business direct debits, obviously nothing I could do straight away with having no money to transfer in to close down.
within a week they then added 200 pound in charges, and again at end of month they added another 100. Etc etc.
i spoke with HSBC over the phone an explained tha I couldn't clear account just yet with having no funds to do so and that I was refusing to pay the 400plus charges they want as well.
never really heard anything back from them about anything.

anyway was speaking with my natwest bank manager today and he informed me that HSBC has put a default on my credit file.
i have had no notice of this I would never of known if it wasn't for that phone call this morning.
    im fuming!!
can anyone help me on what I can do to get this default removed??
I am wanting to change over my mortgage in march, due to renovation etc and this has just been a right kick in teeth..
if anyone can help in anyway. Really would apprieate it

    thank you
