Please help my employee rights

hi all

i would like some advice on some work matters i work for a big company that is going through rapid expanshion at the moment and becuase of this our car park is full to cappacity and on most days you cant park in it. i do shift work so there are people coming and going at all times of the day so when i get to work i park outside the car park and off work ground by the side of the road. well in the last few days we have recieved emails from managers about moving our cars and not parking on cerbs my question is yesturday i everyone recieved an email saying that we cant do this even outside the company grounds and if we carry on parking in this manner we will get disciplinary's for doing it well is this allowed can i have a disciplinary for parking outside the company grounds? the wording of the email is below

Anyone who persists in this may face disciplinary action.

if you park on the kerb, the local authority can bill you for any damge made, such as cutting up the grass, etc

if you park next to the kerb on the public highway, your employer can do nothing. you pay your road tax, you park where you like within the road traffic act

i would think your employer has had complaints from the local authority and remember

you employer has no legal reason to provide private car parking spaces for its employees

just park next to the kerb on the public highway

(NOT ON THE KERB OR ON A PUBLIC PATH, or grass verge)

and you will be fine
