    hi all
i have a question i would like to get some help with i know alittle about employee rights but would like some clarifaction

a friend of mine has a car and on his car he has stickers on it with slogans about god and stuff he is a religios perosn but does not try to make other people join his religion.

i has been noted by his managment at work and there are rumors that they are going to ask him to either remove the stickers or remove the car from there property

my question is can they do this? i think they can ask him to remove the car but i said he could just park it outside the company property which isnt that big a deal but other people have said to me that he would have to remove the car from the sight of the building completly i am not sure this is right at all and would appreciate some advice (sorry about my bad spelling)

    Re: employee rights

this is covered under article 9 of the human rights act

    (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

    (2) Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

they cannot make him remove his vehicle or every staff member would have to remove their car

bluebottle may well comment as well as it may also come under the public order act under religious and political persecution as well under incitement

UK law has to be compatable with EU law

they are asking for trouble over this

who or why has a complaint been made

    rumours are just that, rumours

i would leave well alone until something does happen or you could end up on a disciplinary yourself
