BPILOANS-cold called

Today received upto 5 phone calls, number withheld and she was foreign.

She kept on about this £5K loan taken out in 2005 paid off in 2008 and illegally sold PPI.
I asked where she got the info, she said "its all in front of me" but never confirmed how, and I asked which bank, she said "Barclays" I said No, never taken out a loan with them, then she said "Halifax" I said No, then she said "oh it must be Lloyds TSB then", I didn't confirm but did confirm that I have dealt with my own and they are all completed, especially for that particular year!

She would not have it and said, "but you've been illegally sold PPI" and went on to say that "this is not a sales call and we are not selling anything, but want to help you get your money back" and again told her NO!!! its all flipping sorted and resolved.

I put the phone down, checked the receiver and she was still blabbing on!!

So angry!!!!

Di that won't be the first or last call but if you managed to get their phone number if they call again, name of company and play them along a bit.... see what the plot is how much they charge upfront and how much on completion, who asked them to call you etc lol before telling them to sling their hook it would be good for us to know who they are? so we can keep watch and report them to the MOJ.

These cold calls are far to frequent another one of our members had 3 calls in succession within 10 minutes and we like to keep our beady eyes on these companies.

I keep being sent emails from CMC's various. But have never contacted one.

So who is providing them with the names and data?

The sales of individuals data is out of control...!

We are getting them here in the office on all of the numbers, flaming recorded messages every time, so I don't even get the pleasure of abusing them.
I've even done the press number X to talk to a human and told them its a business etc and they slam the phone down on me, cheeky gits.
Worse bit of all we are on TPS both here and at home, I am getting heartily pee'd off with it all.

I agree one hundred trillion percent.

Why are the ICO not controlling the loss and misuse of this data more efficiently.

My data was once stolen from loans.co.uk - ICO did absolutely nothing about it.

Data has been stolen from various government bodies.

Now you can buy the data in India at coffee shops near the call centres so what chance do we have of policing our precious data?

Why is our personal data going to places like India surely this is totally wrong.

I could not clearly understand what she was saying, but when asked if she could confirm who was calling, she was pretending not to hear me, I asked about 6 times, then she just went on about getting money dropped through my letterbox (of a loan that I don't think existed).

Difficult to get the number as it was no number left (withheld).

I am also ex directory, and TPS registered, so annoying these calls.

And not long ago, like Tuttsi received letters of our details open for data, via loans.co.uk etc........Experian.
Where I did contact the above Credit organisation as well.

There's not a week that will go by without a sales calls of a CMC, letters, emails etc.

Infact, received a second letter from the same company, all details of the company are on the letter.
Do you want them as well?

Also, make a complaint to the ICO about your data being used and that u believe it could be from the stolen batch from Loans.co.uk, I did this a few weeks ago, so far not heard a word. But if more people complain to them perhaps they might just realise that this is a real threat to peoples private information.

tell them you are ex directory and TPS and that you never tick the box that you want your data to be passed on for marketing.

If I knew how to to it I would send a freedon of information request asking them pacific question,

Yes will defo make that complaint to ICO, and that is exactly what I think as well in regards of loans.co.uk, and it's 4 years on, and nothing's been done, just like you said, it's so wrong!
