Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me! I recently had some bifold doors installed and have had numerous problems with them, the worst of which being that the Company claimed to be FENSA registered, but are not. therefore, I have no certificate confirming they comply with building regs. I have tried to initiate a VISA chargeback through Halifax (I paid for the doors via VISA debit), but I am being passed from pillar to post and being told different things when I speak to them. I eventually managed to speak to a superviser yesterday, who stated that I do in fact qualify for raising a chargeback, but I would have to return the doors to the supplier first or they can't raise it with VISA. this seems ridiculous to me, plus the fact that I have been unable to get in touch with the Company in any case, how can they seriously expect me to take out a full room width of bifolding doors on the off chance my claim is successful - what am I meant to do in the meantime? Surely the frame would have to come out too, since this was all part of the package, this would mean hacking walls out etc!
Can anyone tell me if Halifax are correct in what they are telling me? Any help very very gratefully received!
