    hi does anyone know if it is legal that after successfully claiming back my ppi from RBS through a compensation company that instead RBS making a payment to me with a cheque they sent the refund to my old credit card account because they said that there was a ballance oweing even though i have been making regular payments to them to clear this up and my card account has not been in use for over three years.

    It depends on the terms and conditions of the credit card acount. Can you scan and post a redacted copy of them here ?
