  • Paradox Vs. Nationwide

Right guys.. the short short version.

DPA Sent, statements received back, they owe me £368.11 (it's a silly amount because they refuned £1.89 of interest which I thought would be better to take off of the total charges, I didn't see the point in not taking it into account. Best not to give them any excuse at all was my thinking!

prelim letter sent 12th May, so they've got until the 29th to respond to that (a couple of days grace as I handed them in on a Saturday, and there's also a bank holiday)

    Thats the story so far.

I'm so disappointed, Nationwide have just sent me a letter saying they're not going to refund my charges! And there was me thinking they'd simply roll over and give me my money back!

I even got a nice piece of A4 telling me ways to avoid getting charged in the first place, which I thought was good if them!

Long Story short.. LBA is going to be done over the weekend for posting on Tuesday.

Unfort IME nationwide do like you to get to the court stages. However they seem to pay out very quick after that.

Check your account if it is still a live one as they have a knack of depositing the money striaght there. Usually without telling you. the first you may hear of it is in their defence from the court stating that they have paid out.

In my case I had the Cheque the day before - I still went to court though to get the Default and CCJ removed - they didnt show up and I won that as well!!

        Yeah - good times!!

seems so long ago now though!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I'm a bit behind at the moment, I've had a side project on the go. Hopefully I should be able to re-do my spreadsheet (long story short, had to reformat computer) at some point over the next couple of days, and get the LBA off!

Well, finally managed to do my LBA, only about 3 weeks after I should have! I've redone my spreadsheet as well, as I had to reformat my hard drive. Also sent them a request for their T&C's from when I opened the account.

            LBA goes tomorrow

Oh how tedious.. I've had to resend LBA as RM seem to have misplaced it. Sent today.

Why did you use MCOL out of interest?

                      Re: Matt Vs. Nationwide

Have received notification from MCOL that Nationwide have submitted a defence.

                      I wait with baited breath...

                          Re: Matt Vs. Nationwide

I got mine in before the blanket stay was imposed on the 13th of August Jan.

                            Re: Matt Vs. Nationwide

Ah thanks Matt, trying to put together a bigger picture is difficult, so much on different forums so if people keep posting their actual experiences we will at least get a better idea.

Ok.. I've received a stay from MCOL. Any suggestions as to what I need to do now?

I don't really need the money (only £300 odd) and whilst it'd be nice, I'm relatively happy to wait for the test case to finish.
