  • changing my bank account to married name

    hi all

i have had a current/internet account with the clydesdale bank for several years. i got married 10 years ago but never bothered to change the account name from my maiden name as i hardly used it. with the ever-increasing rules on getting access to your own money i thought i should now think about get ting the account name updated.

i have my original marriage certificate and old and current passports (in maiden and married names) - does anybody know if i took these along to a branch of the clydesdale bank, would they be able to update my account there and then or would they require any further docs?

thanks to anyone who can help!

Marriage certificate and passport(current) should be fine as well as the account number and sort code.

thanks. in my experience clydesdale bank has not always proved to be the most helpful in the past. (thats why i stopped using the account) so i just wanted to avoid any nasty surprises (and a second trip).

      thanks again for yur help
