I have a 1990's purpose-build flat, in a walled development, with common parts and parking. I have paid off the mortgage in full and have a letter stating such from the now ex-lender. The ex-lender adivise that I contact a solicitor to remove their charge.
However, I see from the Scottish Office website that their is a route to do this without a solicitor. So, as this if a realtively modern house, are there any views about a layman doing this themselves.
Regards,
Colin.
