As of January 2009 the terms and conditions of current account are changing again. This was agreed in the middle of October(so just after the Historic Terms and Conditions judgement). More news on this to follow.......

the new Terms and Conditions do seem to be a lot more in Plain Intelligible Language than previously.
the new one comes in on the 28th november. the last change came into effect on 1st October....so someones keeping busy.
Main Changes
October -
6.1 Availability
6.1.1 Unless indicated otherwise in the Account Specific Conditions for
your account, arranged overdrafts are available on request if you
are aged 18 or over and you satisfy our criteria. We can change
your overdraft limit by notifying you personally to tell you what the
new limit will be.
from November 28th
6.1.1 Unless indicated otherwise in the Account Specific Conditions for

are aged 18 or over and you satisfy our criteria.
and they added
6.1.2 We may change your overdraft limit by giving you personal notice of the new limit. If we are reducing the limit;
a) We will normally give you not less than 30 days notice of the reductuon; but
b) our notice may provide for the reduction to come into effect immediately if, as a result of the way you operate your account or your financial circumstance, we have reasonable grounds to believe you may have difficulkty in meeting your commitments,#staysafestayhome

OCTOBER
6.3 Unarranged overdrafts and unpaid items
6.3.1 If you issue instructions for a withdrawal or other payment which
would result in:
(a) your account becoming overdrawn, or further overdrawn,
without prior arrangement; or
(b) your overdraft limit being exceeded,
we will treat your instructions as an informal request for an
unarranged overdraft. General Conditions 6.3.2 and 6.3.3
describe the charges we make when we process your request.
from 28th November

describe how we process your request and the charges we make when we do so.
OCTOBER 6.3.2 and 6.3.3 and 6.3.4
6.3.2 If we are obliged to accept your request because you have used
a card to guarantee payment to a third party, we will make a
charge known as a Guaranteed Card Payment Fee.
6.3.3 If we are not obliged to accept your request, we will decide, at
our discretion, whether to accept it or not. The following charges
will apply:
(a) if we accept your request, we will make a charge known as
a Paid Referral Fee.
(b) if we do not accept your request, we will make a charge
known as an Unpaid Item Fee.
6.3.4 Where you have an unarranged overdraft, in addition to any
charge imposed under General Conditions 6.3.2 and 6.3.3,
we will:
(a) apply a monthly charge known as a Maintenance Charge;
and
(b) charge interest (known as debit interest) on the unarranged
overdraft at a rate which

6.3.2 If we decide we are willing to accept your request, we will make a charge known as a Paid Referral Request
6.3.3 If we decide we are not willing to accept your request, but nonetheless accept it because we find you have guaranteed payment by the use of a cheque guarantee card or debit card, we will make a charge known as a Guaranteed Card Payment Fee.
6.3.4 If we reject your request, we will make a charge known as an Unpaid Item Fee#staysafestayhome
