Hi and thanks for letting my onto the forum.
Am after some advice i am currently going through a bankruptcy hearing with 1st credit and after numerous offers being declined to clear my debt with them ( just short of 7k including 1.8k legal fees ) am faced with court next friday which will probably end up with me being made bankrupt.
After refusing to accept any offer made to them by Stepchange i made a last offer which was just over £200 a month ( enough to clear debt and costs in 3yrs) supported by an email from my employer stating that i was more than capable of earning the money was not even considered by 1st credit unless i was able to secure it onto my property which i have tried to do only to find out mortgage company was not happy to secure debt without speaking to the interested parties.
Informed the solicitor acting on behalf of 1st credit just to get a reply stating it was not their job to "persuade" my mortgage company so that has now lead me to file a complaint with the financial ombudsman and try to convince the county court to adjourn my hearing until they have responded.
Not sure if correct procs was followed in the beginning as i had 2 stat demands issued within a fortnight of each other NO default notice when 1st credit brought my debt from lloyds and the 1st contact i had with 1st credit was when the stat demands were issued.
Sorry if its long winded hope someone can help
