  • What's my options

Due to many reasons that I'm sure you don't want to be bothered with! I'm drowning in un paid bills and finding it difficult to manage! Currently off sick from work because my dad is terminally ill, my mortgage company is showing no empathy! I just want to walk away! My house in the grand scheme of things means nothing to me! I'm considering bankruptcy! However one of my friends advised a similar thing via the CAB! If I did the above will I be able to return to work? What will the disadvantages/advantages.......any help appreciated.

First of all, take a deep breath and on a piece of paper write down priority bills ie gas, electricity, council tax, tv licence, mortgage,

then write down non priority bills, ie credit cards, store cards bank overdrafts.

Then on the other side of the paper write in the money coming in.

When you talk to the mortgage provider you need to state that you would like them to deal with you under the Lending Code Section 9 which is financial hardship: http://www.lendingstandardsboard.org...endingcode.pdf (page 28 in the link)
