  • Bankruptcy - Issues!

I'm worried about bankruptcy for a 2nd time!

Any advice is welcomed (I have been an idiot, I know).

I now live abroad out side the EU.
I owe a high street Bank about 19,000 UK pounds from a personal loan. I also owe a grand to energy company. This is from 1 year ago.

Q1) Going Bankrupt a second time, how is that viewed? I haven't committed any fraud.

Q2) If I am made bankrupt by a creditor how will I know?
Q2) b) Do I have to turn up for hearing? What if I don't turn up?

Q3) How many addresses are listed when going bankrupt?

Can i use a PO box for mail in the UK and get this redirected to me?
    Q4)

Q5) If I give my new address abroad how may this impact the debt issues / bankruptcy?

Thank you for your advice. Worried to bits...

What makes you feel that they will bankrupt you have you stopped paying the loan back?

What address do your bank usually write to you at? as I am sure this is the address they would use.

They would also usually gazette the issue of bankruptcy proceedings.

They would issue a statutory demand first to last known address?

      Hi and Thanks,

as it was a year ago i took the loan out, the loan is sucking money from the personal account that had a 200 uk pound overdfraft which is now 6,000 UK! Rightly or wrongly I assumed they would bankrupt me, as I have about 2,000 UK pounds to my name - cash, everything!

I'm concerned about the Gazette, purely as I was at my ma and pa's for a few months. For me I have no problem, but shaming there home would be awful. I was considering using a PO BOX as my new address in UK and get post forwarded to me.

What does a statutory demand entail? If I don't recieve it as I am not in the country what impact may this have? Should I contact my bank and give them my new adress abroad.

I want to repay the debt, but its impossible. I teach English and at the end of the month have no savings.

      Any advice or wisdom welcomed.

If you were bankrupted previously you would have been served with a statutory demand. here is link to some info here http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sou...9RnjCEdvxwbxjw

You could check with the official receivers office if there is an order against you, but I am sure letters would have gone to the last known address. Also, the official receiver are pretty hot in finding people by any means.

If you are able to make smaller payments then by all means write to the bank and try for an arrangement to pay and also give them your address overseas to contact you.
