Hi All
so my partner has been dumped with a £800 council tax bill from a previous property with her ex from about 7 years ago, we have managed to borrow the amount of the liabilty order + outstanding debt and are planning on paying the council direct as the enforcement agents aren't playing ball at all.
we reckon under the new rules and reg she is classed a vurenable person due to her being in recpeit of benefits and her health issues, (post concussion syndrom, fibromayliga, episley)
JBW the enforcement agents have said they have vistied on 3 seperate occasions and left documents - as you can all guess this is complete bull - we live in an entry controlled buidling and you would need a key fob to enter, and nothing has been posted throught the letter box from JBW.
when we contact JBW and stated that under the new regs my partner was a vurenable person they pretty much then asked for war and peace, bank statements, benefit entitilement letters, and medical records such as letters form consualtants and doctors proving her illness and then they would make a decsion.
After numerous complaints to the council North Somerset, they have alway bounced it back to the enforcement agents saying we would need to deal with them and not the council and if we wanted to take the complaint further then we would need to go to the LGO
my question is around the fees, have read online, that since the new rules, they can still contiune enforcement action untiil their fees are paid, even if the payment is made direct to the council?
sorry for the poor spelling as im at work and trying to do 5 things at once :-)
any help or advice would be great
