Hi all,
My wife paid for car tax by cheque a little while ago sadly due to an enexpected bill the cheque bounced. She was told to either pay again or return the tax disk (when it was still paper). She returend the disk but they said they didn't have it and she would be summonsed to court. She contacted the court and told them it had been sent and in fact she had since paid for her tax again. The court were uninterested and she was given a £264.59 fine.Again she protested that it had been returned and she had bought more tax shortly after but they remained of the mind she was using two tax disks for the same car. She heard nothing more from court until Excel Scum sent a letter for the £264.59 plus their Compliance Fee of £75.00 a total of £339.59 is now due.
My reason for writing is to find out if their is a) a way around the court decision and what process should they have followed is seeking payment from my wife and b) is there any way around scumbag charges?
thanks in advance
