Thanks for the clarification, as these days people don't know for sure what is a government department or quango, or PFIed out to the likes of Crapita. time for DVLA the Tse Tes Fly, and the LibLabCon all to go.

Oh yes, couldn't agree more, but I thought I'd give the MP the chance to exercise his brain a little before I told him what he should think ;-)

It depends on whether your MP can think for themselves or follow the party line unwaveringly. If it is Margaret Hodge, you need only say, "Kill!" I watched her savage a manager from ATOS who was appearing before a House of Commons Select Committee Margaret Hodge was chairing. I have to say that it was akin to witnessing a rottweiller in attack mode, but, oh, so pleasurable to watch, given the misery ATOS has caused millions of people.

Unfortunately a Limp Dem, but hopefully he'll at least make an effort...

He might do something as Cleggie is dreading the European elections next week when the LibDums may lose all their seats.

              Baldrick,

I can't remember if I mentioned this earlier, but the following address is for the Courts & Tribunals Service's Correspondence, Complaints and Litigation Unit. They are based at the Ministry of Justice HQs in London -

              Correspondence, Complaints and Litigation Unit
              H.M. Courts and Tribunals Service
              102 Petty France
              London
              SW1H 9AJ

              Email: general.queries@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk

On the whole, they are helpful and I am sure they would be very interested to hear about what DVLA is up to on their premises.

Re: DVLA saying I didn't return a logbook

                Okay guys,

having replied once stating the v5 was returned and stating when the car was sold, and when I'd have posted the v5 (sold on a Sunday, posted the mon- Fri after) they have again said I have a fine to pay of £35, or £55.

so this is what I have written to them,

                "To Whom It may concern,
I write again in reference to XXXXX. I repeat my previous statement that the V5c logbook was returned in good time, as per the previously stated timescale.
                i will also point out that as this document was returned by 1st class post, under section 7 of the Interpretation Act 1978;

"where an act authorises or requires any document to be served by post then, unless the contrary intention appears, the service is deemed to be effected by properly addressing, pre-paying and posting a letter containing a document and, unless the contrary is proved, to have been effected at the time at which the letter would be delivered in the ordinary course of post."

Therefore the document would be deemed as delivered 3 days later. And as such I have fulfilled my LEGAL obligations with regard to this. Unless you have evidence to the contrary of what I have stated, I ask you to send no further correspondence related to this matter with the exception of a notification of no further action.

                yours Sincerely

How is that? I'm tempted to add in that if the write again I will charge them a fee of £50 per letter I write and will seek costs of £50 per hour if it goes to court.

                  Hi J4mes

                  Just a small quickie

                  .

The accepted default rate for LIPs is £18 ph - so unless you can demonstrate that you are earning more than that it would be better to stick to that rate

(otherwise it makes the court entertain the idea that you are taking the P) x

                    Thanks missFM

my actual work hourly rate is between £14.50 and £18.70 an hour depending on day so I'll go for the lower. I'd be donating it to charity anyways so makes little difference to me:tongue2:

                      Go for £18 - that's the norm - just don't crank it up to £50 :tinysmile_twink_t2:

                          Looks good to me, J4mes.

I've taken the liberty of popping in a couple of suggestions ie perhaps remove the bits in red and add in the bits in blue, if you like.

Others on here are much more knowledgeable and may disagree (the wonder of a forum, lol) x
