  • HELP!! - Court papers, Claim forms, Judgements sent to previous address

HELP!! As mentioned in another thread I was given a nasty shock last Friday when a HCEO turned up on my doorstep at 7am demanding payment of a non-priority debt from a previous address. I left the property almost a year ago unaware I had defaulted on a payment arrangement. The debt collectors (Sovereign Debt Recovery) sent letters and a court claim form to my previous address, all court papers were sent to my previous address, all judgement notifications were sent to my previous address. EVERYTHING was sent to my previous address. No attempt was made to trace me until the HCEO became involved, and that was the first I knew about it.
I do not deny I owe the debt and have made and offer of payment in installments via the HCEO to my creditor, but is there anything I can do to get the HCEO off my back. I am currently in a Debt management plan for other non-priority debts and ideally could do with adding this into my DMP but have been told I cann't as it is subject to a CCJ and High Court Writ of FiFa.

    What do I do?
