Hardly anyone speaks Welsh in this part of Wales, though the culture is fabulously strong. Go up to Anglesey in the North or over to the West and lots do. The area my Mum lives is almost entirely Welsh. It's nice to hear it being spoken as well.

Welsh for Richard Cranium, as it happens I am in Cardiff at the moment, and CC is right not as many speak Welsh here as you would think.

I found that when I was in the police, BB and Labman. They do speak Welsh more in North Wales. I will not be repeating the phrase "pen pidyn" in the presence of those who speak the Cornish language as "pen pidyn" means exactly the same in Cornish and Welsh. It just happens that my late father and his family are Cornish, although his father's family originates from what is now North Cheshire and his mother's family from what is now South East Lancashire/Greater Manchester. My mother's father's family, however, originate from Wales.

The letters suggested by Labman have been done but the bailiff turned up this morning, rang bell but was ignored. A letter was left saying they will turn up every day and if ignored will force entry......any suggestions?

Has he been in touch with his Councillor? If not, and he doesn't know who the Councillor is, there is a link in my post above. They can be contacted any time from 8:30am - 9:00pm and should intervene on your behalf.

You have stated they owe £1200. How much are they paying a week towards this debt? How long have they been paying this amount for? Is the debt for just one Liability Order, more than one or don't you know?

If unsure, phone the council and ask:

1. How many Liability Orders they have against you?
2. The dates they were obtained?
3. The addresses they were for?
4. The period of time each covers?
5. How much each one was for?
6. How much is still outstanding?
7. The dates they were passed on for enforcement?

They have to tell you this information.

As already stated, it would be an unwise bailiff who forces entry when payments are being made, but you need to make the Councillor aware, so that on your behalf he can tell the council, who in turn can tell B&S to stop enorcement proceedings for the moment. Make a point of stating there is your partner and a 2 year old child in there by themselves much of the time, and so they are vulnerable according to the National Standards for Enforcement Agents.

If you can sort out the above, and post up when you have anything further.

Is it also possible to post up a redacted copy of any paperwork left please.

If they are making payments to the local authority, then I agree with Labman's analysis on the situation. However, we are talking B & S, a private sector bailiff company that appears to be under the belief they are either above the law or the law does not apply to them. The reality is that B & S are not above the law and they have to obey the law in every respect. The letter they have pushed through the door is, in the circumstances, a rather foolish act on their part. The onus is on B & S to prove that they are acting reasonably, in the circumstances. As Labman has stated, it is a foolish bailiff who attempts to force entry without the authority of a court or without lawful authority. Have the actions of B & S had a detrimental effect on the health of your daughter and son-in-law? Given that the local authority has a joint and several liability with B & S for the actions of B & S's bailiffs, the urgent intervention of the local ward councillor(s) and, possibly, MP, also is now something that should be pursued as a matter of priority.

Local councillor has been emailed and I am on the the local council myself now..will keep you updated.
