Hey
Just been referred to this amazing forum and see that there's a lot of seriously clued up people.
So I'm hoping that someone can help!
Recently been issued with a PCN.
I purchased a ticket and displayed it on my car, but came back to renew it as it was about to expire.
Didn't have change, so went across the road to get change, came back and already had a ticket.
Obviously my fault for not looking down the road to see if an inspector was coming, but my watch also stated that I had about a minute left on my ticket.
On checking the PCN, it was issued 3 minutes after the ticket that I had originally purchased had expired!!! Annoying.
I find this a bit harsh however as my intentions were definitely good. I had already purchased one ticket and was on my way to get another.
I wrote back to Islington Council and informed them of the above, but they said that there is no form of grace period and that the PCO has their equipment calibrated to the ticket machine, which is understandable.
I would love to take this further, but have no idea if there's any point.
Anyone got any useful tips??
Hugely appreciated.
