  • Court Requisition, DVLA

    Hello all,
I had a Requisition from DVLA for an uninsured car that I did not have at the time. They said my name was on the recode but I had sold the car 6 months before!
I sent the DVLA Enfacement a letter via recorded delivery, similar to the one on http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...highlight=dvla, but got no respond; when I called they said they had not process the letter, they got it 8 days ago!
because the court is tomorrow and i didnt wanna go to swansea, as i live in london it would cost me more than £100 to go there and take day off work, i had to pay.
My question is would i get anything back if i complain about it? (i know i shouldnt have paid but i couldnt go to Swansea) can they just manipulate people like that?

    thanks

It seems self-evident that they can - and did !

It would have been better to go to Swansea and either win on the day, or get it adjourned, and win later. Either way, you could have claimed all your costs.

Otherwise, consider a formal complaint. This costs nothing, and if pushed hard might just get you somewhere.
