Hi there,
I would like some advice please on behalf of a friend who is experiencing problems with jacobs bailiffs. They have posted some liability orders through his letterbox, i have advised him not to never let them in and only deal with the council....unfortunately trying to do the right thing he did ring them and they said they would visit him....in between this i advised him not to meet them as they would only want to gain access to get a walking possession order.....he hasn't much anyway so it will be a lost cause for them..anyway they came again and posted through a waling possession order for a car that was parked opposite his house that doesn't belong to him, he doesn't own a car, he doesn't drive!
Am i right in thinking that they cant take this car? is it the responsibility of the bailiff to check the DVLA to find out who owns this vehicle? I have advised him to speak to the council and only deal with the council about what he owes and ask them to take back the debt, hopefully he can make a payment to the council this week, i am just concerned that the bailiffs have put the car on the walking possession and it doesn't belong to him, he certainly doesn't want any hassle from his neighbour about this.
can you advise me on this please, many many thanks
Kat
