Hello to anyone who can advise.
I received a order for recovery on the 24/09/12 £127.00 from Newham Council which I am not disputing. However I received a visit today from JBW Bailiff who informed me they had clamped the my car. I was very confused at this time because I had not received any correspondence from them. I showed them all my paperwork of other tickets I am dealing and asked them where was their letters. I was told I had to pay £678.04 or some payment for the removal of the clamp. Because they saw I had all my paperwork in order for other outstanding debts they were sympathetic and allowed me to pay £150 and a payment arrangement of £100 per month and the removal of the clamp.
I called JBW later in the afternoon, and was informed a letter was sent 17 Nov 12 £146.44, Visit 3 Dec 12 13.47 which the bailiff said a letter was left! Visit 5 Dec 12 15.27 No response no letter or card left and then lastly today 5 March 13. Mr Goodman said they had visited my address twice hence £678.04 .
Is this right that JWB can send one letter and a few visits without no letters informing of the visits and monies owing. What person would be irresponsible to let a debt go so high and not contact the company! Basically I had no idea who the balliffs were after the order for recovery!
Currently I am on working tax credit of £196.00 per month and trying to get my business of the ground!
