  • Bailiffs note through the door

I have had a few PCN's passed to bailiffs due to non-payment. I believed that they had all been paid, only to find continued correspondence from them and letters through the door. It turns out that one of them had been missed.

I have since paid the outstanding ticket amount directly to the Council, who have confirmed receipt of this. The original bailiffs were unable to collect on this, so have now passed on the outstanding collection of bailiff fees to another company, who have put a 'Bailiff Removal' notice through the door.

    What should I do?

Bailiffs don't pass debts on. Is it perhaps the first have returned it to the Council who have issued it to another firm. Needs a better picture of what has happened.

The Council were paid the full outstanding balance of the ticket.

Having received the note through the door today, they confirmed that the ticket balance had been paid, but that the bailiffs fees were still outstanding and that Newlyn had passed them on to Whyte and Co.

If Newlyn had passed it back to them, why would they pass it back on to another bailiff company if they have been paid for the ticket?

Council also confirmed that there were no other tickets outstanding. I have asked them for a full written breakdown of all tickets issued on that car and to confirm that they have been paid, which she did over the phone.

I haven't responded to today's letter through the door.
