The fine was from 2009 when I was living on my own,and apparently because my turned off/unplugged tv was not in the corner of the room this was enough for the tv license people to get the court to issue the fine. Anyway I didnt attend court but did send in a statement on my behalf. I didnt hear anything for a few months after by this time I had begun to make plans to move from the.south east up to.newcastle as my girlfriend was expecting our daughter in a few months, and she wanted to stay.near her family for the birth. So I handed in notice to my.employer which.was for 4 weeks due to the length of my employment with them. Two weeks before I a marstons man appeared at the door, after a little chat we agreed I would pay 100 a week to clear the debt. Which was fine I could afford to pay whilst I.was working. So the first two weeks was fine, the marstons man would phone and I.would pay by card, then the weekend I.moved up north I.didnt get a phone call or the next couple of.weeks, so I.didnt think.anything about it. Life carried on and then after two months another marstons bailiff phoned demanding money, I told him I was longer working or getting benefits as the job centre didnt think that leaving my job to move up.north so I could be a father to my child when it was born. So I had no money or job, I stopped answering the callow from him and then they stopped calling and I.forgot about it in the end. Since then my girlfriend had the baby and I still had no job or money. When my daughter was 1.5 yrs old my girlfriend got another rented property through letting agents she got the first with, everything was fine, then on September14 2011 I got a further steps notice, so I phoned up and made arraingements to pay with a payment card, which was fine and I made regular payments, only missing one payment by two days, then a week later I got a letter from Phillips on the 22 June 2012 saying NOTICE OF DISTRESS WARRANT so I phoned them up set a repayment plan up with them, they.sent out a letter 7days later confirming the arraingements made. The first payment was due on 5th July which my girlfriend paid using the automated payment service they had. Payments have been made regularly every two weeks, then they sent me a txt on my phone asking me to phone them, I did and they said they hadn't received the first payment, even though my girlfriend did, so I said that she had and they said I need to show them a bank statement showing the payment, which my girlfriend has to do in the bank as we dont have internet at home, and costs £5. We are waiting for them.to.arrive by post, so we can look and see what's happened. My girlfriend phoned them and said she wanted to pay weekly instead and was told that wear fine, then on the 16th August they.sent another letter saying PRE-REMOVAL NOTICE and the fine had been increased £215 which has made the fine more than what the court first charged me. They also said someone had visited the property, which is rubbish as I am at home all day, everyday looking after my daughter whilst my partner works, and I have a dog that barks whenever anyone enters the front or back garden and the dog never barked as I check to see if anyone is there when she does. What can I do? I dont work, the fine is one I had from living on my own and I'm worried that they will come in the house and take my girlfriend/daughter's items/toys. I don't own anything except two old televisions and a couple of DVDs the rest my girlfriend has paid for herself. Any help or advice would be welcome, the court I was given the fine by is closed. Who would now where the court is now that has the fine? Please anyone?

Re: I have a fine for no tv license
Okay. Firstly, stop panicking. You say you were living in South East England before moving to Newcastle Upon Tyne. You need to contact HMCTS headquarters, in London, to find out which court, in South East England, your case was transferred to as regards your fine. Secondly, you need to get a written breakdown of charges from the bailiff. Thirdly, the bailiffs cannot take any children's toys, nor can they seize items that do not belong to you.
Get on to HMCTS HQ tomorrow morning and take it from there.Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
