Rossendales again

I have been chased by rossendales for a 42.50 charge for two alleged visits, I am aware the they visited my property once as a hand scrawled excuse for a letter was put through my letter box.

They say that they made another visit that neither I nor them have any evidence of. I have reluctantly paid the fist visit fee of 24.50 (+80p card fee!!!). I am concerned that they may do something to get their other 18.00. I have spoken to them and explained that until they can supply evidence of this other visit I shall not be paying any more. Am I in my rights to do this.

Hi Jimbotot and welcome to Legal Beagles.

Unless they can prove they made a second visit, they are only entitled to the first visit fee of £24.50. If they start hassling you for payment without providing evidence of the second visit, that could put them in breach of the law.

Rossendales do not have a very commendable record for compliance with the law.

I love this bailiff stuff, you didnt ask the bailiff to call at yours did you? well why dont you charge them for harassment oh yes you can.
