Re: csa bailiffs civil partnership query

I would advise option 3, try to get it returned to the CSA not give money to bailiffs.

You could go and see your MP a letter from him / her ot the CSA cna get your case reviewed by someone senior and then if this is unsatisfactory referred to the ICE.

The parliamentary Ombudsman no longer intervenes in CSA complaints, they are referred to the ICE.

If a bailiff tells you therwise then its fraud. He needs a costs order from the magistrate.
I think that you are not giving the right advice here and an allegation of fraud is very serious indeed.

The Statutory regulations regarding CSA in relation to bailiff fees can be found under the Child Support (Collection and Enforcement) Regulations 1992. The link is here:

Thanks for all your replies. Went to CAB this morning (and most of the afternoon) they suggest we go to the magistrates court to get a means form to get the case re-assessed, not sure if that is the right advice as she didn't sound too sure herself, she was concentrating more on our debt problems, which do need to be addressed but dealing with the bailiffs is the more urgent problem. Have had a look at the ICE site and get the impression we can only put a complaint in after we have complained to the CSA first and not got anywhere. I've seen a template letter somewhere that requests all the information the CSA hold on my partner but I can't remember where it was, if anyone can help me with that one. Is it worth appealing to the CSA to call the dogs off or just sit tight with the windows and doors locked until they go away. Also, how do we go about getting Rossendales to prove the fees they have charged are legal? Still no sleep for me or him tonight!!

Unfortunately, as I think we all know, bailiffs are very "creative" when it comes to fees. Like it or not, if a bailiff charges fees he/she/they are not permitted to charge or for work they have not done, that is Fraud by False Misrepresentation (Section 2(1), Fraud Act 2006) and, in some cases, False Accounting (Section 17(1), Theft Act 1968), as well. You don't have to commit fraud deliberately; being reckless as to what you say or do is sufficient to commit an offence.

If you Google NACSA or deadbeatdads they should give you more information
