    Hi there does anybody know if you can pay a distress warrent monthly my husband who is a serving police officer has bee fined £750.00 for not having any car tax (a very long story) we never knew the car tax had been voided by the post office because they put the wrong reg number on the car tax disc, we are appealing but havent got £750, four weeks before christmas. Ps we havent had one letter regarding the fine just a visit frommarstons

      I believe the contact between marstons and HMCS states that payment can be spread over a 6 month period

      cant post a link to where i found out about this because it was on another very well known website

        if you had no idea your hubby had been fine i would think a statutory declaration would be the way to go

        have you asked marstons to show you the distress warrant check the address on the warrant it may be that the dvla have the wrong address and all correspondence has been sent there

          the address is correct, we do have problems with our mail though and have done for years, we live at an address in liverpool in which there are two south groves one in liverpool 8 and one in liverpool 18, and for years now our mail has gone missing, the people that used to lie in the liverpool 8 property used to forward it on but they have both died now so god knows were our mail goes
