  • Marstons & Court fines

Hey people, Found this site and found some info very helpful on here. So would like to ask for some extra help myself.

I have a outstanding balance with Hmc for about £900.
I got this under very unfair circumstances and it shouldnt have been inposed in the first place.

It used to come out of my benifits at £3 pw until december 2009. Come march 2010 I has marstons on my case. I had completely forgot about the debt due to me never paying it (direct from benifits) and had gone self employed so it had stopped being payed.

I had a nightmare trying to get the court fines office to withdraw it from marstons at the time, but after paying £100 and agreeing to £7pw they did.
The man was so unhelpful, rude and took about 10 phone calls to sort it.

At the time I explained £7pw was too much and I couldnt afford it, but it was my only option.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, and depression.

I will be honest, I have been missing payments, them paying extra. Basically paying when ever I can afford. I am only taking home about £40 pw. I would be better off on benifits, but wanted to be doing something. My depression really holds me back, so my business has not got any further than where it was at the start.

I got a letter from Hmc the other week saying they where forwarding my £10 payment to Marstons who have now got the account.

I called them up, Explained to them that I sent them a letter 2/3 weeks previously trying to get lower payments, and was told they didnt receive it..... Typical.

I They will not retract it from marstons.
I dont know what to do, I have no real possessions, no money and am suffering here with worry.

What can I do....? I really cant afford more charges on top, nore the stress of people on my door?

If I registered unemployed, would these people get of my back? would the courts take the fine back to themselfs?

To be honest, I wouldnt mind having a arrest warrent instead of this, at least then I would hand myself in, be back into court in the morning and explain my situation to someone that might actually listen and re-set the fines.

    Any advice people.
Sorry for the really long post and sorry if its a bit messy to read, just stressed.
    thanks again in advance.

You need to tell them about your medical condition as there are guidelines they should abide by, and I'm not sure whether or not you would classify as a vulnerable person.
