    Help please.......

During the summer months and going through a marital breakdown, i temporarily left the family home. i didn't change my driver license details etc as i was always going to return once my partner left, I was "sofa surfing" with various freinds and family.

On my return i discovered I had received a court summons for speeding, had been convicted of failing to give driver information and fined £675 all without my knowlrdge.

I wrote to the court explaining the circumstances and offering paynment of £100 per month, this is really stretching my finances, and asked if this was acceptable.

I heard nothing from the court, but have now received a visit from a baliff(Marston) in my absence, the total they require is now £900 (£275 baliffs costs) and the letter states thay are demanding the full amount and that instalments are not acceptable.

Help please, i really can not sleep at nights.

    Re: Help please

Did you receive all the paperwork at the time of the offence? Was it just a case that it was not passed on to you?

      Thanks for the reply

I think it is a case of the paperwork not being passed on to me, i really didn't have a clue.
