  • Complaints Against Equita

Hi guys, I wonder if someone could help me. On the 19th Sept Equita clamped my car outside my house due to a parking ticket which was not paid. I was made aware of there actions through a letter which they posted through my letterbox.

Upon receiveing this letter I called there headoffice and was told that I needed to speak to the bailiff (the usual crap).. I asked the lovely lady on the phone(not) for the PCN number and details of contravention. She was keen to give me this info(not) and I went away and then called TEC. I filed a Stat Dec on this parking fine @12:30pm.

The usual process is that TEC would forward this to Newham council, and then the council would forward this to the Bailiff in question.

I called TEC @ 16:00 and was told that the PCN had been filed and that it would be on hold. This was all completed on the Friday.

I wake up Monday morning to find a clamp on the car.!!! I went crazy on the phone to the Bailiff, but as always he was still persistent that the stat dec had not been filed, and that they were pursuing the warrant.

Approx 2 hrs later, i had some raggy old kid come and remove the clamp, without any apologises or anything.!

I logged an official complaint to the county court, and this case was put infront of a judge a couple of days ago.!

Surely from the info above I should of won this case and the compensation claim I put forward. But No, this case was closed and the Judge basically said that the bailiff had not made a mistake!

    Any suggestions guys?

    None that are legal.

Is there any way of challenging a judge's judgement on a case when it is so clearly wrong? There must surely be some sort of complaints procedure?

Well thats what I thought. These cowboys of Equita have basically lied through their teeth.

I have a contact at the courts who delieverd the judges decision, and she advised me that I would need to write in and ask the judge to reassess her decision.

Do you think its worth the paper?

If you write in and explain things as clearly as you have above I'd risk 41p for a first class stamp on it!
