  • Council tax- Rossendales, Advice please.

I have received a letter this morning from Rossendales and have to say find it rather confusing, I did a google search on the company as i thought it may have been some sort of scam, which brought me to this forum.

The letter in question relates to unpaid council tax from 2002!! The amount is £480.96, And if not paid in full within 14 days then distress may be levied upon my possessions!

Can this even be right, Ive never heard anything at all about this before from my local council, Surely if i owed them council tax i would of at least received a letter from my council explaining this.

Im so confused, Could it be a mistake?

Any advice would be great, I will of course be calling Rossendales first thing on Monday morning.

    Thanks.

You need to call your council not the bailiffs. Rossendales will tell you all sorts of lies. Find out from your council if you do actually owe any money and we can take it from there.

Have a read around the bailiff forum and you will discover why it is never a good idea to make contact with a bailiff. Also have a read of the guide if you haven't already done so Bailiff Guide - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum
