  • Collect Services Bailiff fees

    Hi,

I have an unpaid parking fine that has gone from my council to the company they use which is Collect Services. The bailiff arrived at my house last Friday and asked me to pay £267 I told him I couldnt but could pay next Friday (today) he said he'd ring at 12 midday to take payment which he hasn't.
I have been looking over the letter and see that it went from £125 to £163 with collect services and then the bailiff added £104 for making a visit! Can they do that? It means I'm paying more in fines for a bailiffs charge plus Collect Services charge then the actual debt itself! I don't want to not pay them and end up in a worse situation but I think the charges are a bit steep. Please help!

He has now called and I made the payment but would still appreciate some advice as to if I should try to re-claim the fees?

    Re: Collect Services Bailiff fees

First step is to send a SAR to the bailiffs Bailiff - SAR - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum to see the breakdown of the fees

Have a read of the bailiff guide Bailiff Guide - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum

It may also be an idea to check the bailiff you paid is certificated - have a look at this thread Bailiff Certificate: I found out he didn't have one..Via HM Courts Service.. - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum - also Collect Services, in Middlesex
