  • charges for van hire...

    hi there

    just a quick question.... can the bailiff charge £200 for van hire at the same time the walking possession was signed???.....

    He only visited me once... on the day I signed the walking possession order!!

    No, because prior to a walking possession, he had no need of a van. He was coming to collect money, not goods and therefore a van is not something that you should be billed for in the absence of a valid levy or signed walking possession order.

      Thank you so much for confirming that..... I have also read else where that;

      A reasonable van fee can only be charged following a VALID LEVY

      so apart from charging me a van fee before the walking possession was signed, I also believe the levy to be invalid as he only levied my sofa which is needed for basic living.

      please correct me if i am wrong, otherwise i will be writting a letter of complaint concerning these fees.

      many thanks to you all xxx
