Long story will try to make it short,i bought a car escort paid cash had bill of sale .2 weeks on was driving not been in my car for 5 min when i had to stop at lights when their was a tap on my window he ask me to pull over and pointed to the turning facing me,i really thought that they were police officer as they had on stab vest and did not think for i min they were anything else, have pulled round to the road they pointed to have pulled up and the smallest of the two appoched me and put his hand in my car and took the car keys out and no point was i shown id, the largest of the two was now telling me i was having the car taken of me as the person who owned the car owed over 2,000 but told them time and time again that i bought the car but he was not hearing wot i was saying, this went on for a while so with that they took the car, long story .,i foned newlyn and they said if i could send proof then i could maybe have the car back, this went on for over 3 weeks .Now my daughter comes in one night and tells me that my car is park less than half a mile away didnot belive her so ask her to take me there, well OMG it was my car and wait for it 8 parking tickets my car had been parked their from the day it was taken of me ,now this car was so good at starting up and getting me to were i needed to go ,but since i have had it back it will not start and things have been taken off it,( by the way i towed the car back to garage was not going to leave it their). Got a fone call the next day saying that i can have the car back as i had enough proof, and was told to ring bailiffs about the keys, which i did they told me that they would meet me with the car as it was in a carpond (LIES) i had it but they didnt know it from they on was told nothing but lies about the car were abouts,in the end i told them that i had the car and i wanted the keys for it so they arrange to meet me at mcdonlds.the large bailiff let the little one meet me ,so now i have 8 parking tickets and im not letting this go what are my rights with this 8 parking tickets and a car that still dont go and its all down to little and large ,thanking you escort111. (i needed my car as i have a daughter with spinalbiffda)

Re: Little And Large Wannbe Bailiffs
This sounds more like a scam to me. Did they show you any paperwork, documentation of seizure or registration details? Seizing a car then parking it on a public street and removing things does not sound to me like the modus operandi of a bona fide bailiff. If you can get in writing from the company in question the dates they had the 'seized' vehicle for, then I would imagine they would be liable for any fees in terms of parking tickets??Last edited by shamen; 14th August 2010, 15:41:PM.Advice given is offered as personal opinion only. Re: Little And Large Wannbe Bailiffs
Newlyns are a reasonably small but quite established debt collector working for local authorities. On their website they state "
The services provided range from the collection of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Road Traffic Debt, Debt Recovery, BIDS, Information Gathering and Tracing Activities, through to the Enforcement of Bail and No Bail Warrants and Bankruptcy and Charging Order Services. "
I've only heard of them as I had someone recently email me about being chased by them for unpaid parking tickets which didn't belong to her but to be fair the emailer also did say they weren't being threatening just persistant :tinysmile_aha_t:

Re: Little And Large Wannbe Bailiffs
they are mainly based in northampton, which is very near me hence why I think I got the email through debt sites on google maps.
their website is a bit vague but they appear to claim they are bailiffs collectng mainly for local authorities, maybe like a smaller version of equita.
