Help needed please.
Bailiffs have already clamped my car for a disputed parking fine (I have a valid parking pass) and are threatening to tow the car unless I pay them £485. They are not offering terms and want full payment immediately. We had received no letters or notice prior to their arrival on 17 April and have been taken by surprise with the whole thing.
I have twice sent the Council parking services who issued the ticket proof of my parking pass but I have now upset a total jobsworth there and she has said they don't care as long as they get their money, that she will not allow any negotiation and that the sooner my car is towed the happier she will be.
I have told the bailiffs that I do not have that kind of money so they have said they will tow the car and increase the costs even more.
If they remove the car and auction it I doubt it will cover the costs they are already demanding as it is a battered little S Reg Fiat .
My worry is that I am the registered owner of another car ( one that my self employed husband uses for work) and the bailiffs are aware of this. Can they also clamp this car to cover further disputed costs?
