I am very sorry to go off topic here slightly but I would be most grateful if anyone could explain to me what exactly is 'Commissioned or Alleged Commission of Offences' in relation to the Data Protection Act 1998?

This comes under the heading of Sensitive Data. Other headings in this section include: racial or ethnic background, political opinions and religious leanings, to name but a few.

This means that sensitive data may only be stored if it is relevant.

For instance, if I have a driving conviction but do not drive as part of my job then there is no possible reason for my employer to store this data.
