Can they check with utility providers?

Hi All

i ambeing chased by Moorcrofts. on the last letter they said' we have verified your address by contacting a major utility provider.' Surely data protection rules would not allow this? I want to write tothem and ask who is passing information to them. Just want to annoy them really as i think they are just saying this on their letter.

anyone know anything about this?

By replying to them you are confirming your address yourself, why make it easy for them?

Thanks for the reply. i havent spoken to them but i just wondered about the utility provider blurb and if it was true. i will need to contact them eventually and get it sorted as i dont fancy them turning up at my door.
