I recently had a case against a company in Newcastle go against me and their costs were awarded approx. £6,000.
I live in Bristol. Yesterday a private enforcement company put through my letterbox an envelope, no stamps, with 'high court enforcement, by hand, removal of goods notice' written on it.
It was a formal notice: intention to take control of goods' written on the letter inside.
Can anyone tell me was this actually delivered by this company, or somehow by a postman? The address of the company in the letter is London.
I called the man on the letter and he was very hostile and demanding. Stated I had to pay the money or he would continue visiting my property and the next step would be taken - something like sale of goods?
He said I had already been sent one letter, by first class post, which I have no idea about.
What can I do please? I am appealing the judgment of costs, so how can I ask for this enforcement to be temporarily halted?
Also, really want to find out who/how this letter was hand delivered. By who?
