  • Does anyone know just out of experience etc what would happens after imprisonment

So a person has served 28 days at the kings pleasure for failing to attend an information hearing on their finances obviously it does not remove the debt which still stands ,what happens if that person still refuses indefinitely to cooperate are they just looped in and out of prison for the offence on a 28 day roster or does the situation intensify ? Also can the persons financial information assets be forcefully obtained without consent i ask this as one wonders why the system relies at all on the person in debt to provide and does not just take access this information without consent perhaps their is a legal obstacle here or the court that can not be got round ?
One would presume that the above must happen occasionally there must be cases of complete non cooperation those that are purely stubborn of mind or in have utter contempt for the current system i wonder if the law becomes exhausted with these people having imprisoned them but still not managing to get anywhere ?

I have no experience of imprisonment, but would suggest that imprisonment is followed by release.

Continued contempt of court may be visited by further sanctions.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
