  • What benefit removal household goods ?

If you leave aside protected household items that cannot be removed, there is very little else a bailiff can take
these days that can be quickly turned into ready cash and would it be worth the effort anyway. What can a bailiff
take from somebody to cover say a debt of £1000.00 ? It was always the TV they could rely on in the past but a
second hand TV is worth next to nothing. All white goods are now protected (such as microwaves) as is clothing
and tools needed for work, even computers required to run a business or for school. are beyond the reach of bailiffs
    these days.

Would be interesting to know what bailiffs do nowadays to get around the small return on household chattel.
The threat of removal of goods is itself fast becoming an anachronism

It is still the threat of removal that usually gets results particularly if they have gained entry. A microwave can still be taken if there is an alternative means of cooking/heating food. Usual target is still a vehicle.

      On the subject of microwaves
These are notorious for going rusty very quickly and even a good one will always have that grubby feel about it. Wonder what a bailiff could hope to recover when you can pick-up a brand-new one on the internet for £25. Ever seen a bailiff in the post office sending off a second hand microwave to someone? Postage alone would probably hit the £25 mark
