    Hi,
    A lawyer acting for another party refused my severely disabled son a reasonable adjustment in writing in May 2023 which would prevent his access to education.

    this caused me extreme stress leaving me u able to eat or sleep, and days after this refusal and I suffered a miscarriage for which I was hospitalised.

    Once out of hospital, I challenged the lawyer quoting the Equality Act 2010 and the lawyer made a U turn and allows the adjustment.
    It is against the SRA rules for the lawyer to discriminate, I have checked.
    Am I likely to succeed in a claim against the lawyer for breach of the Equality Act in the small claims court for refusing a reasonable adjustment, as it is the lawyers responsibility to ensure they are acting within the law and should be professionally embarrassed to seek un

    Are you sure that your complaint is against the lawyer and not his client?
    Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
