  • Scan and Go Banned

    Hi all,
In brief, I use my phone to do scan and go as it lets me start shopping before 8am.
today, I got a quality check and I hadn’t scanned half my shopping correctly. It was £80 unscanned items
I paid for everything then left with the security lady who said we have your details and you’re banned for 2 years due to the value and your photo will be sent to all Asda stores.

I’m worried beyond words and threw up immediately when I got home. Shaking as I was driving back.

I called into work sick because I feel mortified and scared.

What do you think will happen next. I appreciate all advice given. I have recently self-diagnosed myself with ADHD due to my impulsive nature, and fear I may have Kleptomania.

will I get a letter. Or a fine. I don’t want to go to jail. I’m distraught.

    Hi MMWWHOME

    Welcome to LB

Firstly clam down, try not to worry.

You paid for all your shopping. There is no loss to Asda. That should be the end of the matter.

    a) security lady who said we have your details and you’re banned for 2 years due to the value and your photo will be sent to all Asda stores.

O.K. they have your details (you shop there, pay by phone etc, so they would have), just shop elsewhere for 2 years, I doubt that they will recognize you, if they did all they would do is ask you to leave. You could probably go in there and pay cash, I doubt they will notice.

If you get any speculative invoices, just file them, don't pay.
