I am looking for advice on the fact my line manager informed my colleagues by email that i was of work due to stress.A workmate sent me a copy which i forwarded to HR . I called HR and asked of the legality of the email as i thought it was a breach of the data protection act,I was told that the email was very unprofessional but they would not tell me if it was legal or not.
This is the email that was sent
Gents,there is need for assistance on the mail runs due to holidays and illness on this week,**** will be on the franking ,and R***** on the front van (that is if he gets over the STRESS)so your teams will have to cover the back mail run,if R***** does not tur up you will be required to cover both runs,cheers enjoy the week
Any advice on the legality would be much appreciated as HR and the institutes data officer told me it dose not constitute a breach
