  • hassle from capquest debt collectors

i received a letter from capquest saying that i owe them £891,
this was on the 15/06/2017, i sent a request for the signed agreement and any other information they have on 29/06/2017,
they then replied on 12/07/2017 they have put my account on hold for 28 days while they wait for santander to send them the details, i then received another letter on 16/08/2017 (later then the 28days they said) saying they are still wiating for a reply and thanks for my patience, they will update me when they know more, then i received another letter on 30/09/2017 saying they have not heard any thing yet and they will keep me updated, my question is, is there a time period that they have to get this information or do i just have to wait until they pull there finger out, i am finding this very stressful and i just want it sorted
any help would be very much appreciated

    Hi & welcome to LB.

Pretty much a waiting game imho.

What is the alleged debt for (credit card, bank account etc) & if regulated by the Consumer Credit Act, did you send a formal s77-79 request + £1 fee?

thanks for your reply, it's for a store card (burtons) not sure about the Consumer Credit Act, and i did send s77-79 request + £1 fee about 14days after receiving there first letter, it took me a couple weeks to read up and see what steps i had to take, so i guess it is just a waiting game now,
