  • Cost at civil litigation

    Hi
Could you help me about the cost of any small claim court?
Upon application by the defendant, I have been added as a second defendant.
I never received any letter or notice before the order was issued by the district judge to including me in the case.
Could the court order for the cost, if the case goes against me?

As it is small claims court then the ability to claim for costs is very limited. Basically the cost of submitting the claim to the court, a sliding scale depending on the amount, and then £50 for the solicitors costs and a small sum to put it in front of the judge plus interest if claimed. The amounts should already have been added to the claim. Here's the charges for starting a claim. As it's small claims it is below £10,000
